Rendering?

Hey Pete!

Love the concept of Ur site so far.

Just a question. Will there be a group for rendering on paper and online? I study interior design/ architecture so I mostly do interiors as in how to decorate it but also the architecture of a room.

I just got an iPad an am trying to learn rendering by myself as well as in paper.

Thanks Senn!

The idea is that people can create any group they like. We want to one day migrate this website to a proper app like reddit so it's more accessible. But for now, if there isn't a group already, please go ahead and make one!

This is a section that I’m working on at the moment for my part 1 final year project. What are everyone’s thoughts and opinions, what can I do better ??

Sorry been off dealing an adjudication - which I'll post about shortly.

I'm assuming you're finishing secondary school and have some kind of art or design material to show?

I think there are a few things to cover in a portfolio: obviously some kind of artistic knowledge but you don't have to be an expert- just showing interest in say colour, form, perspective etc. Show exploration of a subject - depth of exploration is good rather than just skimming the surface of a subject. Showing how you've made decisions: if you can draw anything how did you decide on what to draw/ model etc? Rather than say, I thought it looked good, what I fluency your choice. Showing a diverse range of I fkuences is good : artist case studies, poets, engineers, archaeologists- we had students who were coming from backgrounds like maths and history degrees. Remember you're going to uni to learn architecture so you're not expected to know it all now but Showing interest and the thought processes I've mentioned above is good .

Make your pages clear and free of clutter so at a glance one can understand what it's about - a visual hierarchy will show you can organise thoughts and not just fall into making graphics.

If you upload some portfolio pages we can all comment

Is it a big problem if I don't have an imagination to design new buildings?
